Bold Beer Cocktails

Super Bowl Sunday is usually all about the beer and food, with some football sprinkled in here and there. Serving beer straight out of a cooler (or in a more creative way) is all well and good, but mixing beer with some fun flavors and spices can make for some fun beer cocktails that all your Super Bowl party guests will enjoy.

Whether you're mixing them up in a big punch for your party, or just combining a few ingredients for a tasty cocktail, these beer drinks are perfect for the Super Bowl.

Beer Margarita

You can't have football without beer, and luckily beer pairs really well with margaritas. You've seen those frozen margaritas with a bottle of Corona in them, right? This takes that concept and makes a big batch of beeritas perfect for Super Bowl Sunday. Get our Beer Margarita recipe here.

Spicy Beer Cocktail

Our Spicy Beer Cocktail is an easier recipe than the standard michelada, but tastes just as good. It goes great with chips and guacamole and salsa, as well as your other Mexican-inspired appetizers. Make a big batch for all of your guests!

The Cocky Rooster

Speaking of spicy, this Cocky Rooster takes the micheleda and spices it up 10 notches with sriracha, jalapeno and Maggi sauce. Get the complete recipe from The Kitchn.

Homemade Beer Float

We all love root beer floats, but have you ever tried a Beer Float? Our recipe for a Homemade Beer Float is as easy as it sounds. Use your favorite stout, such as a milk stout, and pair with vanilla ice cream. It works as a dessert, too!

Gridiron Punch

We love making punches for big events, because that means we don't need to play bartender all night to our guests. This Gridiron Punch found on ForRent.com (created by the blogger behind Pizzazzerie) is made with beer, pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda and some citrus for garnish. She went above and beyond by pouring them into individual mason jars and tying recipe cards to them. How cute!

Thirsty Touchdown Cocktail

The Kissters created this signature cocktail specifically for the Super Bowl, and it's good enough to appeal to everyone at your party. Part Old Fashioned, part shandy, this cocktail starts with a Pale Ale base, and includes bourbon, bitters, lemon juice and a orange wedge for garnish. Get The Thirsty Touchdown recipe here.

Grapefruit Beer Bellini

Bellinis aren't just for brunch. If you can find a grapefruit beer at a local craft beer store, mix it with grapefruit puree and some prosecco or champagne, like this recipe found on Mantitlement.

White IPA & Raspberry Beermosa

Light IPAs mix so well with fruit, which is why this White IPA and Raspberry Meermosa is a light, refreshing cocktail that's sweet enough for even the pickiest palettes. Get the recipe from A Better Happier St. Sebastian.

Pink Summer Shandy

Although this shandy is called "summer shandy," it can definitely be enjoyed year-round. Our writer Becky Hardin calls this Summertime Lemonade, but a big, sweet batch of it would be super sweet for Super Bowl Sunday. Mix some light beer, vodka and some pink lemonade single-serving packets (such as Crystal Light).
