Mother-Daughter Wine Tasting Ideas: 3 Creative Ways to Dress Up Your Bottle

Bottles of wine are essential to wine tastings – I mean, what else are you going to drink? – but they can serve so many more purposes than just as a vessel for your beverages.

Incorporate wine bottles to other aspects of your wine tasting event, such as decor and party gifts. By wrapping up your wine bottles in personalized tote bags or creating your very own wine labels, they make for fun gift ideas for all the moms at your Mother-Daughter Wine Tasting.

We took the burlap tote bag idea step further and incorporate fresh flowers to make beautiful and rustic flower arrangements. These arrangements are perfect for your wine tasting tablescape, and as party favors moms can hold on to after the party is over. And of course, customizing wine labels is a fun and creative touch that all the moms will appreciate.

1. Make a Burlap Wine Gift Bag

  • Burlap wine sack
  • Card stock, gift tags and other personalized supplies you want to hang from the neck
  • Curling ribbon
  • Twine

Step 1: Place your wine bottle in the burlap sack

Step 2: Secure shut with attached enclosures, then secure with ribbon or twine.

Step 3: Attach printed cards, printed quotes and other tags you want for your mom.

Step 4: Secure any other dangling supplies, such as atifical flowers or sea shells.

Step 5: Set out for the moms to take as party favors, and enjoy!

2. Make a Burlap Sack Flower Arrangement

Once you have the wine bottles in the burlap sack, you can use this base to create a beautiful and rustic flower arrangement.  You can use just a couple single stems, or make a mini bouquet using a bridal bouquet holder. For more tips and full instructions on how to make these bouquets, visit my Mother's Day post on the 1-800 Flowers Petal Talk blog.

3. Make Customized 'Private Label' Wine Labels

Create a sweet and customized wine label that's perfect for your mom. Design something simple on your computer (using Word or Paint is fine), and make sure the dimensions fit the actual wine label. You can also be a little more hands-on, and create something using cardstock, stencils, markers and glue.

Keep in mind something that really resonates with your mom, such as a fun quote or inside joke. The two examples I created were inspired by my mom, the original Silver Fox, anda Beautiful Mess — something I thought my daughters might make for me!
