Mini Foods for a Summer Picnic

Summertime, we love you! Summer is such an wonderful time to gather with family and friends and have a picnic! Picnics are fun and easy- especially if all your guests pitch in and bring a different dish. So why not theme your next picnic with foods that are mini!

Mini foods are on trend and rightfully so! We've gathered some of our favorite mini foods that will truly stand out at your next picnic or barbecue.

Mini Hotdogs

We are totally loving these mini hot dogs in homemade buns. The best part is that you get to eat more than one hot dog without the guilt! To add to the fun finger-food feel, they are presented in adorable DIY trays.

Mini Pies

Cupcakes are very popular around here, but sometimes it can be fun to think outside the box. That is why we just love the idea of mini pies at a picnic!

For Fourth of July you can make mini apple pies with a small dollop of whipped cream on top. As American as (mini!) apple pie!

Mini Corn on the Cob

Corn on the cob is a staple at barbecues and cookouts. We cut our corn on the cobs in half and skewered them to make them mini and make them fun! Mini corn on the cob can also be a part of your picnic presentation by displaying them in a cute metal pail.

Barbecue Chicken Sliders

Sliders (mini sandwiches) are fabulous finger foods to serve at a party. These mouthwatering barbecue chicken sliders from A Slo Life are the perfect main dish to serve at a picnic.

Topped with homemade coleslaw these sliders will really take the main spotlight. We love the idea of serving these sliders with a few fries on the side to round out the presentation.

Mini Smore's Cupcakes

You may not be able to bring a campfire to your picnic, but that doesn't mean s'mores are out of the question! We've turned this delicious summer staple into a mini s'mores cupcakes adults and kids alike will eat up.

The magic of mini foods is difficult to resist - a mean punch of flavor packed into tiny bite-sized pieces? Don't expect to have many leftovers!
