Sweet Sand Dollar Decoration for Summer

Celebrate the life aquatic with this charming sand dollar garland.

A little bit goes a long way when it comes to party décor and this simple strand is dotted with dollars, but doesn’t take big bucks to make. Whether you’re looking to dress up a beach-side patio or add a little coastal flair to a landlocked event, this easy décor idea is sure to fill the bill. Learn how to make it yourself with the instructions below!

White cardstock
2” hole punch
Twine, cut to desired length
X-acto knife

Begin by punching a handful of circles from cardstock until you have enough to line your entire length of twine. The number will of course depend on how long or short you wish to make your garland.

Using an x-acto knife, carefully cut five small slits into the center of each circle to form the sand dollar shape.

String paper sand dollars onto twine through slits until the entire length is lined with sand dollars. Tie garland to banister, chairs, trees or anywhere that needs a little seaside flair.

With this simple sand dollar craft, your next summer occasion will have a sophisticated nautical feel that your guests will love. Have fun with your party decor and make these sweet sand dollar decorations for any summer occasion.
