Mother's Day Cocktail: Aperol Spritz

When it comes to Mother’s Day, I like to take my mother and grandmother out for a nice brunch where none of us have to pick up a thing. and even better, none of us have to clean a thing!

But before we put on our Sunday best and hit the town, I like to serve an easy cocktail to toast the two most important women in my life. Ditch the traditional mimosa and try my new favorite orange drink, the Aperol Spritz.

Prosecco is a Mother’s Day staple. Great on its own, of course, but for special occasions I love to spice it up. As an Italian, I’ll admit, I’m prone to Aperol, but I think anyone could appreciate the delicious flavors of orange and rhubarb. With the addition of club soda for extra sparkle and an orange slice for a fresh twist, the flavors really come together. Adding a fresh garnish is a simple and effortless way to show you have gone the extra mile.

Serve in a tumbler as seen here or go the girly route, like I do, and serve in a champagne flute!

  • 3 parts Prosecco
  • 2 parts Aperol
  • 1 part club soda
  • Orange slice

Pour the Prosecco in a tumbler or champagne flute. Add the Aperol, and then top with club soda. Add your orange slice.
