Spicy Sriracha Bloody Mary

Brunch without a Bloody Mary is like trying to fly a kite without a string; it doesn't make sense, and it just won't work. Bloody Mary aficionados know what they prefer in their perfect bloody recipe – maybe it's more horseradish, or a little less Worcestershire, maybe they like it thick and soupy or light and watery. For me and my fellow Sriracha-loving friends, it's all about the spice.

Sriracha sauce is great on everything from Thai food to homemade mac and cheese, so it's no surprise it goes wonderfully in a big batch of Bloody Marys. Adding a few dashes of the sauce into the Bloody Mary mix adds just enough spice without being too over-the-top. But to take your Bloody to new levels of flavor, mix it up with some Sriracha Vodka. It's the easiest way to pack that much-wanted flavor punch and spice, without it being too overwhelmingly spicy.

I used UV Sriracha for this recipe, and let me just say – wow, was it delicious. It paired perfectly with all the other Bloody Mary ingredients, and made for the perfect blend of spicy and savory. The vodka flavor is enough; you don't even need to add extra sriracha to your mixer if you don't want. But if you're like me and like everything on the spicy side, then there's no such thing as too much sriracha. Set out your favorite garnishes to your guests can concoct the ultimate spicy Bloody Mary.

This recipe would be perfect for hosting a brunch with your friends, an early tailgate during football season or just if you're in the mood to mix up a spicy cocktail. As I was making this drink, I was snacking on Sriracha Popcorn from The Popcorn Factory. The two went so well together, I couldn't stop drinking and munching! The popcorn comes in a giant tub, which is perfect to bring to your next tailgate, football watch party or if you're just in the mood to snack on something spicy.

  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sriracha sauce (more or less, to taste)
  • Juice from 1 medium lemon
  • Juice from 1 small lime
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to granish
  • Pinch of salt, plus more to garnish

  • Lime wedges
  • Pepperoncinis
  • Jalapeno-stuffed olives
